Potassium Iodide Tablets

The use of Potassium Iodide (KI) helps in the prevention of radioiodine being absorbed by the thyroid gland. KI must be taken daily until a risk of significant exposure to radioiodine by either inhalation or ingestion no longer exists. This product is ideal for children and pregnant women who may be exposed to high levels of radioactive iodine.

World Health Organizations Recommended Dosage for Radiological Emergencies Involving Radioactive Iodine.

• Over 12 years old - 130 mg per day
• 3 – 12 years old - 62 mg per day
• 1 - 36 months old - 32 mg per day
• 1 month old - 16 mg per day
