Surround Multi-Tech XJ-3000D Air Ionizers
Silent Air Ionizer Technology Plus HEPA and Carbon Filter
and Ultraviolet Lamp for Air Pollutants!
Surround Air Multi-Tech XJ-3000D Air Ionizer $249
Certain
technologies are much better than others at removing different
pollutants. With the Surround Air XJ-3000D, you get the best
of the most advanced air purification technologies on the
market, all rolled into one air purifier:
ROOM
IONIZER to remove allergens, dust, dander and other
particulates from the air.
HEPA
FILTER that traps 99.97% of particulate.
GERMICIDAL
UV LIGHT that destroys micro-organisms like germs,
viruses, bacteria and mold.
ACTIVATED
CARBON FILTER that removes chemicals, gases,
odors and cigarette smoke.
PROGRAMMABLESANITIZER to
remove strong odors when needed or turned off.
Plus
the whisper quiet XJ-3000D Multi-Tech Air Purifier uses stainless
steel ionizer pins, which are more durable than other ionizers.
Besides durability, these ionizing pins produce a high negative
ion output. The ionizer pins are located just inside the air outlet
above the fan, for maximum circulation throughout the room.
More Powerful Than the XJ-3000C
The XJ-3000D is all that the XJ3000C is are and more. With a 90 cfm
fan versus 71 cfm for the XJ-3000C, you get 29% more air flow for increased
air cleaning efficiency when it’s set on the highest fan setting. This
means that more pollutants are drawn through the filter and past the
UV bulb. Also, the negative ions and ozone are better distributed. This
increases the square foot coverage to about 600 sq. ft. Plus the XJ-3000D
has a more powerful UV lamp for greater germicidal capability (40uw compared
to 20uw for the XJ-3000C – uw is the ultraviolet wavelength). The XJ-3000D
comes in a pearl white housing.
Excellent Model to Rid Cigarette Smoke and Odors
The Multi-Tech clears away the thick smoke in this air tight chamber
in a matter of seconds. Proof that it effectively and efficiently removes
even fine particles from the air.
Replacement
Filters and Lamps for XJ-3000D
Surround
models XJ-3000 C, D, E and F all share the same filter (HEPA, carbon
and anti-bacterial prefilter) and UV lamp. Add a replacement filter and
UV lamp for $30 at the time of purchasing an XJ-3000 C, D, E or F and
save $21, plus the cost of shipping when ordered after the fact.
HEPA/Carbon
Filter lasts roughly one to two years, more or less, depending
on the pollution problem. If the unit is used for smokers or
high chemical or particulate pollution, expect the filter to
last three to six months. $36
Anti-Bacterial
Pre-Filter is washable and does not need to be replaced. Wash
by hand with mild soap and rinse thoroughly.
"I
am soooo happy to say that I can now work for hours at a stretch
without having to suffer a headache! The fumes have completely
disappeared from the area!"

The
XJ-3000 Are the Only Air Ionizers to Combine
the Top 5 Air Purification Technologies
How the
Multi-Tech XJ-3000D Air Ionizer Works
How all of the Multi-Tech air purification technologies compliment each
other.
Dirty air enters the air inlet.
High-Efficiency Filtration: Particles & pollutants
are trapped by the 3-layer filter. The anti-bacterial
pre-filter (blue) destroys bacteria and traps the larger particles,
lengthening the life of the other filters. The activated
carbon
filter (dark gray) is the best type of air filter for
trapping chemicals, gases, odors and cigarette smoke. The True
HEPA filter (white) is the most effective type of air filter
at capturing dust/allergens.
Germicidal
UV lamp (positioned behind the filters) is the most effective air
purification method available for destroying micro-organisms such as
germs, viruses, bacteria and fungi (including mold).
The programmable
sanitizer can be turned completely off, or activated to help
reduce or eliminate odors.
Two powerful & quiet fans create strong air movement (for increased
air-cleaning performance), yet do not disturb your home or office with
loud noise.
A safe
and effective ionizer circulates trillions of negative ions to
neutralize floating pollutants throughout the room. Ionizers also
enhance filter performance. Plus, the Multi-Tech ionizer creates
virtually no ozone whatsoever.
The purified air, along with negative ions, are accelerated into the
air.
Air first passes through the Multi-Tech anti-bacterial
pre-filter.
The prefilter preserves the life of other filters, so more pores
can remain available in the activated carbon and HEPA filters for
the harder-to-remove pollutants.
Destroys bacteria to help prevent them from reproducing
and recirculating into the air.
Activated Carbon Filter
The activated carbon is next in line after the pre-filter.
Activated carbon is the best type
of air filter for trapping chemicals, gases, odors and cigarette smoke.
According to Penn State Dept. of Aerobiological researchers, carbon
filters serve to remove odors, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and
chemicals that other filters cannot.
True HEPA Air Filter
After the air has moved past the pre-filter and carbon filter,
removing larger particles, many bacteria, chemicals, odors, etc., it comes
to the thick layer of HEPA filtration.
The HEPA filter removes 99.97% of particles (at .3 microns
in size) that pass through the filter. Largely considered the most effective
type of air filter for solid particles, such as dust, pollen, dander, smoke
and other allergens.
It removes a high volume of floating dust and other particles
from environment, including many of the ionized particles that would otherwise
just settle to the ground.
Germicidal Ultraviolet (UV) Light
The UV lamp is positioned behind the HEPA air filter. The UV lamp
destroys the micro-organisms (such as viruses and some bacteria) that
cannot be captured by filters. UV light is scientifically
proven to
destroy a large variety of microbial contaminates, such as viruses,
germs, bacteria and fungi (including mold).
UV light reduces the spread of illness and
disease and has been used for years by the medical field (including
hospitals) to sanitize rooms and equipment and to prevent the spread
of illness and disease.
UV light is recommended by Centers for Disease Control for
its ability to destroy biological pollutants.
Surround Multi-Tech uses a superior UV lamp, a "CCFL" (Cold
Cathode) ultraviolet lamp, which lasts longer than other UV lamps.
This powerful UV lamp is positioned where it can effectively sanitize
the HEPA air filter. This is desirable because while a HEPA filter
can trap microbials, it cannot destroy them, so when you change the
filter, you tend to reintroduce those microbials back into the air.
Optional Ozone Sanitizer (not available on E model)
The ozone sanitizer is located just above the UV lamp.
If turned on, it ozonates the air as it passed through, along with
the air in the room. This function can be turned off completely if
not desired or needed.
Ozone is a powerful odor eliminator, which is a weakness of most
other air purification methods.
Ozone is a powerful disinfectant at close range, making it an
effective filter sanitizer.
In the Multi-Tech, the
programmable sanitizer uses ozone to super clean a room and can be
completely disabled if it is not needed or wanted, while still allowing
the ionizer, filters and UV lamp to run at full power. The sanitizer
option can be set to high, medium or low.
The Programmable Sanitizer is not
available of the E model.
Ozone is completely safe and effective when occurring within FDA
and OSHA standards of 0.05 ppm (parts per million). In healthy and
clean outdoor environments, ozone occurs between 0.02 ppm and 0.05
ppm. Ozone has not been found to be harmful to the lungs until occurring
at concentrations of 0.1 to 0.2 ppm. However, it is very difficult
(if not impossible) to adjust most ozone air purifiers to produce
anywhere close to this amount of ozone.
If you are in the room while running the ozone option, and the pollution levels
are low enough to cause the ozone to rise, the smell of ozone will
become unpleasant and obnoxious well before reaching harmful levels, serving
as a built-in and self-policing safety mechanism. If this happens, you know
to make an adjustment (i.e., adjust the setting of the machine, increase air
flow, open a window or place the unit in a larger area). However, at proper
levels (0.02 ppm to 0.05 ppm), it will have a pleasant and clean smell to it,
reminiscent of the smell outside after a lightening storm.
How Negative Ions/Ionizers Purify the Air
The ionizer is located just inside the air outlet. It circulates
air-cleaning negative ions into the air.
Effectively removes particulate from the air, such as bacteria,
smoke, and allergens such as mold and dust mites.
Circulates ions throughout the a room, in areas where the
filter has little effect.
Increases the effectiveness of the HEPA by causing smaller
particles to conglomerate into larger particles, according to Journal
of Hygiene.
Government studies show negative ions to be effective at
removing dust and micro-organisms from the air (U.S. Dept. of Agriculture).
Columbia University researchers found negative ions to
have relatively no side effects.
Ozone Free. The ionizer does not produce ozone as a byproduct.
Clinical Test
Results
Reduced
Deadly
"Sewer Gas" by 93%
Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S), a strong gas created by stagnant sewage,
is one of the very worst, and most difficult-to-remove pollutants and
odors known to man. An air purifier's ability to remove H2S is a good
indication of its ability to remove strong odors, toxic mold and volatile
organic chemicals (VOCs), such as chemicals from building materials,
carpeting and furniture. In clinical tests, the XJ-3000D Multi-Tech
Ionic Air Purifier reduced airborne levels of H2S by 93%. In the same
test, the Ionic Breeze Quadra reduced the H2S by just 13%. (Test

99.5%
Removal Rate of Particles in Chamber In a recent lab test, the Multi-Tech removed 99.5% of
airborne particulate in a 128 cubic foot chamber (including 99% of
the smallest range - 0.3 microns and smaller), designed to replicate
the conditions in a typical room. This is more impressive than most
removal rate percentages you see, since it measures the particles throughout
an entire chamber outside the air purifier, and not just at the point
where the air enters the air purifier, which is the common way of testing
particle reduction. (Test

XJ-3000D and E Ionic Air Purifier Features
Inexpensive
Air Filter Replacement - Since the HEPA filter and the
activated carbon filter are built into the same filter cartridge,
filter replacement for the XJ-3000D ionic air filter is simple
and economical, much more so than other room air filters. The cost
to replace the HEPA/activated carbon air filter cartridge is just
$32, and only needs to be replaced every one to two years. The
sanitization effect of the negative ions and ozone in the XJ-3000D
increases the life of its filters.
Clean,
Easy Filter Replacement - Replacing the HEPA/activated
carbon is simply a matter of taking off the front cover, pulling
out the old air filter and inserting the new one. The front cover
then just snaps back in place. Unlike other air filters, no tools
are needed, and the air filters can be removed without getting
your hands dirty.
Energy
Efficient - The XJ-3000D Ionic Air Purifier uses only
40 watts and costs less than $5 a month in electricity (if run
continuously), thanks to an advanced, energy-efficient design.
In contrast, most air filters add over a hundred dollars a year
to your power bill, and some actually increase your electricity
bill by $200 or more per year.
Quiet
and Powerful Fan - On the lowest setting, the XJ-3000D
fan is barely audible. Even on the powerful high setting, it is
not disturbing. The fan draws airborne particles in through the
HEPA and Activated Carbon air filters, which collect and remove
contaminates from the air. Then, the strong air flow created by
the fan blows the negative ions throughout the room, resulting
in a much higher ion concentration throughout the entire room.
When the ozone is turned on, the fan also ensures that it is well
distributed, which helps to prevent the strong "bleach-like" smell
ozone can cause.
Powerful
Collection Method for Ionized Particles - Many air ionizers
do not have any way to collect ionized particles. Although magnetized,
metal plates are a more convenient collection method. The HEPA/activated
carbon combination filter in the XJ-3000D will collect far more
particles, especially with the fan drawing them into the filters.
As a result, more particles are drawn into the unit (as compared
to metal collection plates), and the collected particles are far
less likely to become recirculated into the air.
NO
Black Wall Effect - An air ionizer without a collection
device will cause black wall effect, where the high density of
ionized particles close to the air ionizer will attract to the
closest, magnetically charged surface, which is normally wall space
within a few feet of the unit. In the XJ-3000D, the ionized particles
close to the air purifier are drawn into the air filter cartridge
by the fan, where they become trapped.
Stainless
Steel, Ion-Producing Needlepoints - Needlepoints produce
a higher output of negative ions than any other method, but most
needlepoint ionizers use a non-durable material that usually lasts
only a few months. On the other hand, the stainless steel needlepoints
used in the XJ-3000D Ionic Air Purifier will last the life of the
unit.
Combines
the 2 Most Effective Filter Types - HEPA filters are the
most efficient type of air filter, removing 99.97% of solid particles
that pass through (.03 microns or larger). Activated carbon filters
are the most absorbent type of filter, removing even gaseous particles
such as chemical fumes, cigarette smoke and odors.
Adjustable
Ozone Output (C Model ONLY) - Filter-based air purification
technologies often become breeding grounds for micro-organisms.
But with the flexible ozone production design of the XJ-3000D,
you can increase, decrease or turn off ozone production as needed
to sanitize and purify the air and surfaces of bacteria, germs,
viruses, etc. For instance:
Ozone
Can Be Completely Shut Off - All air ionizers
produce at least a small amount of ozone, since it is a natural
byproduct of ionization. Yet many ionic air purifiers need
to be turned off in order to limit the ozone production, which
also shuts down the ion output. With the Surround Air XJ-3000D,
the ozone can be completely disabled even if the ionizer remains
on, so you can continue to benefit from the ionization with
no detectable ozone amounts and no ozone smell. Thus, you can
place it in a small child's or a baby's room without any worry
at all.
Ozone
Production Can Be Boosted - Just as the ozone
level from most air ionizers cannot be limited, most are also
incapable of boosting the ozone concentration when needed for
odor control. For example, when there is cigarette smoke or
other strong odors, a higher ozone output is very helpful.
The XJ-3000D can be programmed to produce an ozone amount that
is high enough to effectively reduce strong odors.
Ozone
Output Can Be Adjusted - Set the ozone at very
low levels -- Off, Low, Medium, or High setting. Just hit the
button until the LED light next to the desired setting is lit.
When the off setting is chosen, the ozone vacuum tube produces
no ozone, releasing virtually no ozone into the air at all.
On low, the XJ-3000D runs in intervals of 23 seconds "On",
and 5 minutes and 37 seconds "Off". On medium, the
ozone generator runs in intervals of 2 minutes "On",
and 4 minutes "Off". On the high setting, it runs
continuously, which is beneficial in situations where strong
odors or heavy pollution are present.
Timed
Ozone Treatments for Tougher Problems- If you
want to treat a space with a strong level of ozone for 1, 2,
or 4 hours while you are gone, simply set the timer. The XJ-3000D
will automatically turn off after the specified amount of time,
preventing the ozone from building up too much while you are
away.
Affordable
Purification for One Room or an Entire House
Most
portable air ionizers are primarily effective only for the room in
which they are placed, and the most effective way to purify the air
throughout a home is to place individual air purifiers in each room.
However, the expense of most portable room air purifiers makes it
cost-prohibitive to place one in each room. With the XJ-3000D, the
more you buy, the lower your price per unit:
