Using a combination of trace minerals (copper and zinc in the patented form of KDF®, which meets NSF standards 42 and 61) and coconut shell carbon, the CuZn Refillable Countertop water filter removes more than 600 contaminants from water, including chlorine, lead, heavy metals, trihalomethanes (THMs), herbicides and pesticides much the same as Nature uses the earth and its minerals to cleanse water. (Unlike carbon-only filters, bacteria can't grow inside the bacteriostatic CuZn filters!)
The CuZn™ Refillable Countertop Water Filter is also excellent in situations where sulfur and iron are present and a CuZn Whole House system is not feasible. Sulfur and iron expends the media more quickly than other contaminants, so refilling the system is economical and environmentally responsible.

Double Diverter Model
Double Diverter model (shown in picture to the right) has a twin-hose set-up so that water enters the filter from the kitchen faucet, goes through the filter, and then returns to the kitchen faucet where it is released. The advantage of the double diverter model is that the filter body can be set back away from the sink.
Cyst Removal Option
All countertop models come standard with a 5 micron filter. If you suspect that your water may be contaminate with cysts, upgrade to the 1 micron filter for an additional $20.
NOTE: Flow capability usually drops off as the micron rating gets smaller, especially if the water has a lot of sediment, which well water often has.
